Privacy Policy
Mnoria for iPhone and Apple Watch. Effective October 4, 2026.
The short version
- Your recordings, transcripts, summaries and notes stay private, right on your iPhone.
- Transcription and summaries happen on your iPhone, not on a server.
- There’s no Mnoria account. We never ask for your name or email.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and we never sell data.
- Subscriptions are paid through Apple. RevenueCat keeps track of whether you’re subscribed, and never sees your recordings.
Your recordings
Everything you create in Mnoria, such as recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes you write, moments you mark, questions you ask and their answers, summary templates and your vocabulary, is stored in Mnoria on your iPhone. Mnoria has no server of its own, so none of it ever reaches us.
How your recordings are processed
- Transcription. Recordings are transcribed on your iPhone with Apple’s speech recognition. The first time you use a language, its speech files are downloaded from Apple. Your audio is never sent.
- Summaries, titles and answers. These are written on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence’s on-device model. Nothing is sent to Apple’s servers or to us.
- Your notes. Notes you write while recording or afterwards are saved with the recording. Mnoria uses them on your iPhone to shape the summary and to add details from the recording to each note. They stay on your iPhone.
- Calendar. Only if you turn on Use Calendar Events, Mnoria reads the calendar event happening while you record (its name, attendees’ names, location and notes), on your iPhone, to name the recording and write its summary. It only looks at the event during the recording, only in the calendar you choose under Read From, if you choose one, and an event is only added to your calendar when you choose to add one.
- Mentioned dates. Events and deadlines said in a recording are found on your iPhone. When you tap Add, Apple’s own event screen opens so you can review it before it’s added. This doesn’t give Mnoria access to your calendar. If you choose Fantastical or Google Calendar in Settings › Calendar & Maps, tapping Add opens that app, or Google’s add-event page in Safari, with the event’s title, day, time and the words it came from filled in. That page is Google’s, and Google’s privacy policy applies to it.
- Mentioned addresses. Street addresses said in a recording are found on your iPhone with Apple’s address detector. When you tap Maps, that one address is opened in Apple Maps, or in Google Maps or Waze if you choose one in Settings › Calendar & Maps, just like tapping an address in Messages. Nothing else from the recording is shared.
- Language check. To notice when a recording is in a different language than the one you chose, Mnoria compares languages on your iPhone. Nothing leaves your device.
- iPhone search. Recordings are added to your iPhone’s own search, so you can find them by title, summary or what was said. This index stays on your iPhone and is managed by iOS. To turn it off, open the Settings app, tap Search, then Mnoria.
- Importing audio and video. Files you import from Files or Photos, or share to Mnoria from another app, are converted on your iPhone. From a video, only the sound is kept. Mnoria only sees the items you pick, not your photo library.
Apple Watch
Recordings made on Apple Watch are sent directly to Mnoria on your paired iPhone using Apple’s Watch connection. The Watch keeps each recording only until your iPhone confirms it has it, then deletes it.
Microphone
Mnoria uses the microphone only while you record, on iPhone or Apple Watch. A recording indicator and Live Activity show whenever it’s listening.
Sharing and exporting
When you share or export a summary, transcript, your notes, an answer or audio, it goes only where you choose to send it. We don’t receive a copy.
Subscriptions
Mnoria is a subscription, bought and paid through your Apple Account. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details.
To know whether you’re subscribed, Mnoria uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. When Mnoria checks your subscription, RevenueCat receives:
- A random ID created for this install. It isn’t your name, email or Apple Account.
- Your purchases: the plan, its price, and trial and renewal dates.
- Basic device information: the app version, iOS version, and your country and currency.
- Your device’s IP address, as with any internet connection.
RevenueCat never receives your recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes, questions or anything else you create in Mnoria. This information is used only to unlock the app and to let us see how many people subscribe. It isn’t used for advertising or tracking.
Backups
Like other apps’ data, Mnoria’s recordings are included in your iPhone’s own backup, to iCloud or to your computer, if you use one. These backups belong to your Apple Account and are controlled by you, and we can’t access them. To leave Mnoria out of your iCloud backup, open the Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Storage, then Backups, and turn off Mnoria.
What we don’t do
- We don’t collect your recordings, transcripts, summaries, notes or anything else you create.
- We don’t use advertising or analytics services. The only third-party service is RevenueCat, for subscriptions, as described above.
- We don’t track you across other apps or websites.
- We don’t sell or share personal information.
If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with us. You can change this in Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements.
Deleting your data
- To delete a recording, swipe it in your list or use Delete Recording in its menu. Its audio, transcript, summary and notes are removed.
- To delete everything, in Mnoria go to Settings, then My Data, and choose Delete All Data.
- Deleting the app removes everything Mnoria stored on that device.
Children
Mnoria isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
